Ready to Try Wheel-to-Wheel Racing?
If you’ve ever dreamed of lining up on a grid and battling it out on track—but without the high-pressure environment of the Runoffs or national-level competition—the Race Experience is for you.
Two Ways to Race
- Sprint Races (Club Racing Experience): Short-format, high-energy races that give you the feel of real competition.
- Endurance Races (Endurance Experience): Longer events with pit stops, driver changes, and team strategy.
Both formats deliver the adrenaline of wheel-to-wheel racing in a more relaxed, supportive setting—complete with coaching and guidance for drivers who are new or still building confidence.
Who Can Participate?
Race Experience is open to annual SCCA members, with or without a competition license. You’ll self-certify that you’re medically fit, and then you’re good to go. No prior racing experience required!
What Makes It Different from Road Racing?
- Balanced Performance: Eligible cars are capped to minimize speed differences and keep the racing close.
- Instructor Support: A Chief Instructor leads classroom sessions and debriefs, similar to driver’s schools.
- Respectful Competition: Racing here is less aggressive—modeled after vintage and grassroots series where clean, safe driving is expected.
Is Race Experience Right for You?
Race Experience is perfect for:
- Licensed and unlicensed drivers looking for low-pressure racing.
- New drivers seeking a path to an SCCA competition license.
- Solo, Track Event, or Time Trials participants ready for the next step.
- Novices wanting more seat time in a racing environment.
- Crew, workers, friends, or family curious about racing firsthand.
- Experienced drivers considering a car purchase or new series.
Why Try It?
Race Experience events are fun, safe, and approachable—a place to build skills, gain confidence, and most importantly, enjoy the thrill of wheel-to-wheel racing.
